This section contains 'how to' guides which supplement the ROADS manual by providing additional guidance on specialised aspects of the ROADS toolkit.
One such guide, giving a relatively non-technical overview is now available; another, taking a more holistic view to subject gateway construction and maintenance, will be available in the early summer of 1998.

- Diary of a ROADS Gateway Installation

The current ROADS manual is very detailed and covers the whole functionality of the ROADS tool kit. It has become apparent however that a step-by-step guide to setting up and configuring ROADS would be a useful supplement to the current documentation.
This guide has been produced as a diary logging the steps undertaken in configuring a new ROADS gateway. In this way I hope I can demonstrate some of the common pitfalls and provide a more intuitive set of instructions for ROADS novices.
- The ROADS Z39.50 plug-in

Authored: September 1998 ROADS now offers a 'shrinkwrapped' package to add Z39.50 services to a standard ROADS v1 or v2 installation. This uses Index Data's Zebra Z39.50 server to provide access to ROADS records and includes a selection of Unix binaries to make it easy to set up without needing to compile the Index Data code.
