We have a new member of the ROADS-based community of gateways: NADIR (http://www.nadir.org/). NADIR describes itself as "an information system for left-wing policy and social movement". It is based in Germany, and written mainly in German; however, you can easily translate the text of the pages by use of the AltaVista Babelfish service.
NADIR contains links to resources in categories/areas such as feminism, anti-fascism, human rights, radicalism, anarchism, communism and socialism. This is interesting, as these areas are also touched on by SOSIG, the gateway for Social Sciences. Therefore, there is scope for cross-searching between NADIR and SOSIG in the future.
Even though the of being an overseas based, foreign language magazine based resource concerned with left-wing politics, socialism, anarchism and radical revolutionary techniques may not exactly fit in the JISC/eLib remit of gateways being of use to the UK Higher Education research and academic communities :-) we never the less welcome NADIR into the world of gateways.
